VOWS welcomes submissions for Real Weddings and Real Engagement stories. If selected your submission may appear on VOWSonline.ca and/or in our print edition. The following guidelines will help you to get your information published.
- Photographers please send a CD with a maximum of 150 images to: 11 King Street, Unit 5 Barrie, ON L4N 6B5.
- Photos of the couple and their attendants are encouraged but please make the majority of the submitted photos of the event itself. We are looking for the ambiance, environment, style and colour of the wedding. What stood out to you as unique? What would generate ideas for future brides.
- Together with the couple please provide details on the following wherver applicable and submit along with the photos in electronic format (via email, Microsoft Word, text file, etc.):
- Full name of the couple
- Contact number and email of the couple (couple must agree to appear in our medium before we can publish - this information is not published)
- Date of the wedding/engagement
- Location for the ceremony
- Location for the reception
- Did they use a wedding planner?
- Number of attendants
- Did they have a flower girl(s), ring bearer?
- Name of the bridal gown designer
- Name of the formalwear provider and style for groom
- Name of the attendant's dress designer
- Colour theme
- Names for the flowers in the bridal bouquets
- Details about the music, food, drink
- Tell us what traditions were held for this couple
- Tell us what they felt was unique about their special day
- Their favourite moment
- What they would do differently if they could turn back time
NOTE: Full credit in print/online for photography will accompany the piece. Brides and grooms - if you are considering sending in your own CDs please note VOWS must have written permission from the photographer in order to run any photos. Please check your contracts for copyright ownership of photos and reproduction rights. CDs will not be returned to the sender - please do not send your only copies.
